Liverpool’s first safe deposit box facility is celebrating its six-month milestone in the city, after revealing it has been its “busiest launch” to date.

The vault opened in February after a £1 million investment transformed the 1,500 sq ft basement at the Royal Liver Building in to a state-of-the-art vault which includes surveillance technology such as seismic shock sensors, round-the-clock monitoring and biometric identification technology.

The vault offers 1,000 safe deposit lockers, protected by cutting edge security and sophisticated technology, which surpasses the standards set by banks.

It allows private individuals and businesses to safeguard their most valued possessions in a secure vault. Access to the vault is granted through a navigation of personal identification, biometric scanner, customer code and digital photo recognition.

Co-founder Séamus Fahy says the Liverpool facility has been its busiest and most successful launch to date.

The vault, which employed 10 staff when it launched, has now increased this number to 15 staff to meet demand.

Co-founder Séamus Fahy said: “This is our first facility in the North West and the response has been excellent, with clients coming from both businesses and private individuals.

“This is our busiest and most successful launch to date, with many businesses now using the facility to store important documentation and back-up memory devices. We are also the preference for companies wanting to store cash, due to our generous opening hours and discrete location in this iconic building.

“The Liverpool opening is part of our ambitious plans for further growth across the UK. We have achieved so much within our first six months and have exciting plans ahead for Liverpool.”

The smaller boxes are ideal for the storage of jewellery, cash, valuable coins and computer back-up discs while the mid-range boxes are designed to keep papers, house deeds and other important documents as well as larger valuables.

The larger boxes are perfect for items such as luxury watches and jewellery in boxes, stamp dealers, paperwork and valuable artwork which needs to be stored securely.

Liverpool Vaults, a subsidiary of Merrion Vaults was founded by Seamus Fahy and David Walsh in 2013. The Liverpool vault is its third facility in the UK, with vaults also up and running in Glasgow and Newcastle.

Clients can visit the vault 7 days a week, with unlimited free access. The facility offers various box sizes to suit all client requirements, with rental from less than £3 per week and discounts available for long-term rentals.

The Liverpool Vault is open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and 12 noon to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
